Care for your CALASSI.
CALASSI vessels are made by hand in porcelain and are designed to be used. Gentle, simple care will keep them at their best.
The sculptural form of each vessel makes hand washing the most effective way to clean it. Rinse soon after serving, avoid abrasive products and allow the vessel to dry completely before storing it.
Hand wash only
Wash the vessel by hand. Its sculptural form and narrow internal areas cannot be cleaned effectively in a dishwasher.
Rinse after serving
Rinse the vessel as soon as possible after use, especially after red wine. Do not allow wine residue to dry inside.
Use warm water
Use warm water and, when needed, a small amount of mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly so no detergent remains inside the vessel.
Avoid abrasives
Do not use abrasive powders, rough sponges, scouring pads, bleach or aggressive cleaning products on glazed or unglazed surfaces.
Avoid thermal shock
Do not expose the porcelain to sudden extreme temperature changes. Avoid pouring boiling water into a cold vessel or rapidly heating a chilled vessel.
Dry completely
Allow the interior to drain and air-dry fully before storage. The exterior may be dried gently with a clean, soft cloth.
The simplest care is the best care: rinse promptly, wash gently by hand, and allow the vessel to dry completely.
For the places you cannot reach.
The interior geometry of a CALASSI vessel is part of its design. In most cases, prompt rinsing after serving is enough to prevent deposits from forming.
Start with water
Rinse several times with warm water, gently rotating the vessel so the water reaches the entire interior.
If necessary, add a small amount of mild detergent, move the water gently through the vessel and rinse thoroughly afterwards.
Stainless-steel cleaning beads
For deposits in areas that cannot be reached by hand, stainless-steel cleaning beads can provide gentle mechanical cleaning without the need to insert a brush into the vessel.
Add the beads with a small amount of warm water and move the vessel slowly so they travel across the internal surface. Do not shake vigorously. Remove all beads and rinse thoroughly after cleaning.

Do not force brushes, cloths or other objects through narrow openings. Avoid sharp or abrasive tools that may scratch the interior. For deeper cleaning, use stainless-steel cleaning beads with warm water.
A few things to avoid.
CALASSI is made to be handled and used, but gentle care is especially important around its sculptural openings, handmade surfaces and glaze transitions.
Dishwashers
The sculptural interior cannot be cleaned effectively in a dishwasher. Wash by hand instead.
Abrasive cleaning
Avoid scouring pads, abrasive powders, rough brushes and aggressive cleaners on glazed and unglazed surfaces.
Sharp tools
Do not use cutlery, metal tools or sharp objects to scrape deposits from the interior.
Extreme temperature changes
Avoid sudden transitions between very cold and very hot temperatures.
Long soaking
There is no need to leave the vessel submerged or filled with cleaning solution for long periods. Rinse, clean gently and dry.
After washing, allow the vessel to drain and air-dry until the interior is completely dry.
Store the vessel upright in a stable place where its neck and opening cannot be knocked against other objects.
If storing it in its protective case or packaging, make sure no moisture remains inside the vessel before closing the case.
Small variations in surface, glaze and form are part of the handmade character of each CALASSI and are not imperfections requiring correction.
